NEVER2LATE Productions

Making Movies to Make a Difference

The primary creative team behind all NEVER2LATE Productions is the husband/wife duo of Stephen Wallace Pruitt and Mary Settle Pruitt.  For this sixty-something couple, filmmaking isn't a “job.” It's a passion.

Since 2008, Stephen and Mary have been making truly independent, Hollywood-quality feature films that both entertain and inspire. Working together, they write, produce, cast, design, direct, photograph, edit, color, and sound design every frame of every film.

Stephen W. Pruitt

In his “day job,” Stephen is the Arvin Gottlieb/Missouri Endowed Chair of Business Economics and Finance in the Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri—Kansas City. A college professor for over 36 years and the author of over 60 scholarly publications, Stephen’s eclectic research interests include the valuation of sports sponsorships, the stock price impacts of various corporate tragedies, automotive safety, consumer boycotts, and the impact of fast-food advertising on children.

Mary Settle Pruitt

After investing the first twenty-something years of their marriage to raising their children, Mary, initially skeptical of Stephen’s suggestion that they “make a movie,” now describes her role as a filmmaker: “I’m behind-behind the scenes.” In addition to serving as the Executive Producer and sharing co-authorship and co-production credits with Stephen on all their films, Mary handles the essential but “unseen details” such as scheduling, accounting, payroll, regulatory compliance, and craft services.

Randy Bonifeld (Composer and Musician)

The third member of the team cannot go without mentioning. Randy Bonifield, a piano-playing singer/songwriter and film composer from Kansas City,  has composed and recorded the music for the last three NEVER2LATE Productions, has released five albums, and currently produces and scores the podcast On Carlson Drive. A relative newcomer to the world of film scoring, Randy has devoted most of his career to the world of sacred artistry and liturgy, serving as a pastor of congregational worship since 2003 in the southern part of the Kansas City area.
